System prompts

A system prompt is a persistent instruction prepended to every conversation an agent has.

Layers

  • Global (admin only)
  • Customer-wide
  • Per-agent

Layers stack — the agent sees them concatenated, not overridden.

Example use cases

  • Brand voice ("always speak in plain English")
  • Compliance disclaimers
  • Escalation rules
